***Appeal for Prayers and Support for Bhotekoshi Flood in Rasuwa, Nepal***
From Emergency Relief to Recovery, Rehabilitation and Rebuilding
Recent floods and landslides have severely affected communities across Rasuwa, Nuwakot and Dhading, leaving families without adequate food, safe water, sanitation facilities, shelter and essential household items.
In response, Shanti Nepal is mobilizing emergency assistance and working alongside affected communities and local stakeholders to address immediate
needs while supporting their recovery, rehabilitation and rebuilding in the days and months ahead.
Our Response:
Shanti Nepal is providing and mobilizing support including:
- Food items for families facing immediate food insecurity
- Non-food and essential household items to support affected families
- Hygiene kits to promote health, hygiene and dignity
- Emergency WASH support, including access to safe water and sanitation
- Construction of temporary toilets in communities where sanitation facilities have been damaged or destroyed
- Hygiene and sanitation awareness to reduce the risk of waterborne and communicable diseases
- Community-level recovery and rehabilitation support based on identified needs
- Support for rebuilding and restoring essential facilities and livelihoods as communities move from emergency response toward longer-term recovery

The impact of floods continues long after the water recedes. Families need sustained support to recover from losses, rehabilitate essential services
and facilities, restore their livelihoods, and rebuild their lives with dignity and resilience.

From Relief Distribution to Long-Term Recovery
Shanti Nepal is actively engaged in coordination and collaboration to advance relief, recovery, rehabilitation and reconstruction for communities affected by the recent Bhotekoshi floods in Rasuwa.
At a coordination meeting convened by Gosaikunda Rural Municipality with various national and international organizations, Shanti Nepal actively participated and shared updates on the relief and support interventions carried out so far.
Shanti Nepal also presented its plans for long-term engagement in Health, WASH (Water, Sanitation and Hygiene), and Livelihoods, with a focus on addressing the long-term needs, recovery and resilience of flood-affected communities.
