Healthy Baby Competition

Shanti in coordination with local community groups and ward-level health facilities organized eight Healthy Baby Competitions at two communities Benighat Roang Rural Municipality in the month of January 2023.

Assessing 21 indicators on nutrition, hygiene and sanitation and health status with corresponding behavior 159 children (72 males and 87 female) under the age of five participated with their 158 guardians. First three highest scoring children in each of the three villages were awarded with clothing or kitchen utensils or tiffin box as appropriate and all those who participated also received at least some WaSH materials for their participation. It has indeed become a great revealation and sensitization of the issues to the parents for maternal and child health care during the assessment process.
